Southern Spain is well renowned for the Costa del Sol and its busy beach and nightlife.

Further South though, on this part of the coast, this gives way to a quieter and slower pace of life with world class golf courses, Polo playing and horse riding, wildlife reserves and national park areas, quieter beaches and nightlife if you’re looking for it !

The golf courses of Valderama and Almenara are just minutes away from our villa, whilst those of San Roque, Sotogrande, Alcaidesa and La Canada are also just minutes by car.

Tarifa National Park is a popular day trip with stunning and endless sandy beaches, possibly the most popular kitesurfing spot in Europe also offering  horseriding and quadbiking excursions and is around 40 minutes drive. Sotogrande Marina is a couple of minutes drive away, with gleaming yachts in the harbour and a good variety of restaurants and bars, or if you’re looking for authentic Spanish “entertainment”, head for a bullfight or an evening of flamenco dancing – just keep an eye out for local notices.

Traditional Spanish villages are easily accessed too throughout the area for a stroll through whitewashed streets and small plazas.

Further afield, for the occasional day trip is Ronda, famous for its drive through beautiful mountain scenery, Granada and the Alhambra Palace, Jerez de la Frontera with the wonderful dancing horses of Andalucia and the sherry bodegas, The Rock of Gibraltar with the Barbary Apes and duty free shopping, the beautiful cities of Seville and Cordoba or maybe even a day-trip across the Gibraltar Straits to Tangiers and Morocco plus many more attractions.
